A one day Workshop on Demystifying green buildings & GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) for developers was organised by CREDAI-GOA with help of its Youth Wing on Saturday March 08, 2014 at “CITRUS” Caculo Mall, Panaji –Goa.
The Workshop was to encourage the endeavor to mainstream sustainable green buildings in Goa.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar said that Housing is one of the major industry in Goa and he was pleased that CREDAI-GOA has taken a step to initiate Green housing in Goa.
He further said that to encourage renewable energy his Government has intended to implement a scheme to Grant a refund up to maximum 25 % of Infrastructure Tax paid for buildings which are certified Green by TERI. This scheme will be made effective from September 01, 2014.
He later had a one to one session with the CREDAI Members & other invites wherein he answered their questions on Infrastructure, Stamp Duty, VAT and One Window system. He said that in the Infrastructure creation scheme his Government has provided 25 crores for ensuring guaranteed infrastructure of road, water and electricity to all the housing and commercial projects which has paid appropriate infrastructure tax.
He said one very important issue which is of concern is the labour, which is to be streamlined on priority.
Shri S.T.Puttaraju Chief Town Planner, Town & Country Planning Department, Goa, while speaking as guest of Honor said that his department will provide assistance and facilitate green.
The Workshop was well attended by all members of Credai-Goa, Architects, Engineers & Students from Goa Architecture, Goa Engineering & other colleges. The speakers were Ms Mili Majumdar, Director TERI, Ms.Priyanka Kochhar, Sr Programme Manager, ADaRSH, Shri& Ms Ashwini Panadiker, Associate Fellow, TERI-Goa.
Dr Jagannath (Desh) Prabhudessai, President CREDAI-GOA thanked the gathering and said that this Workshop is a CREDAI-GOA’s was a step towards building Green housing in Goa. It was an attempt to emerge as a fore runner due the stamp of our assurance & credibility in all the improvements and progress displayed in terms of the activities of the process of Real Estate Development.
